Job summary

Florida Department of Health Highlands County seeks a Health Support Specialist to provide administrative and clerical support to the WIC program, schedule meetings, and assist staff and the public with excellent customer service. The role requires commuting among three sites and handling WIC EBT/VOC cards and appointments.

The incumbent will support immunization surveillance, budgeting, and records management, ensuring accurate data entry and compliance with DOH policies.

Qualifications

• Incumbent must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire.
• Skill in Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and computer navigation.
• Ability to reach, pull, and lift a minimum of 25 pounds.
• Ability to accurately perform data entry.

Responsibilities

• Provides administrative and clerical support to WIC director by scheduling meetings, updating calendar.
• Communicating with staff on project deadlines and assisting staff, consumers, and the public with excellent customer service.
• Commute among three WIC sites and assist with certification, EBT/VOC cards, and appointments.
• Assist with QA/QI projects and data entry for WIC Services indicators and staff trainings.
