Job summary

RFDS SA/NT is seeking a Work Health & Safety (WHS) Advisor to join the Safety, Health, Environment & Quality team in Adelaide. You will provide operational WHS support, partnering with leaders to foster a strong safety culture and ensure safe practices across diverse operations.

You will lead hazard identifications, risk assessments, inspections and incident investigations, while delivering health, wellbeing and psychosocial safety initiatives and coordinating return-to-work activities.

Qualifications

• Experience in workplace health and safety activities in an operational environment.
• Sound knowledge of WHS legislation, safety management systems and compliance requirements.
• Experience supporting investigations, audits and corrective action processes.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience supporting health, wellbeing and psychosocial safety initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Providing practical WHS advice and support to operational teams across metropolitan, regional and remote locations.
• Assisting with hazard identification, risk assessments and implementation of effective control measures.
• Supporting workplace inspections, audits and safety assurance activities.
• Participating in incident investigations and monitoring corrective actions through to completion.
• Supporting environmental compliance activities, emergency preparedness and incident response initiatives.
• Assisting with the delivery of health, wellbeing and psychosocial safety programs.
• Supporting injury management and return-to-work activities.
• Delivering WHS training, inductions and awareness initiatives to build organisational capability.
• Working collaboratively with stakeholders to identify opportunities for continuous improvement in safety performance.
