Job summary

Summitbsa in Glen Jean, WV seeks a customer service role supporting the whitewater program. You will organize waivers, assist guests onsite, and communicate program information about scheduled activities.

This is a seasonal, full-time position with housing in Staff Camp, a Summit Staff Uniform, and shifts of 45–55 hours per week. You will report to SBR leadership and contribute to a safe, welcoming guest experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18+
• Proficient computer skills including Excel and Word
• Willing to undergo background screening
• Experience with Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communication

Responsibilities

• Organize waivers into a structured system for daily distribution
• Welcome and assist customers onsite and resolve concerns promptly
• Provide program information to guests regarding scheduled whitewater activities
• Oversee daily check-in, departure, and verification of guests for activities
• File trip reports with West Virginia DNR
• Write an end-of-season report with operational improvements
• Model the Scout Oath and Law in daily interactions
• Maintain a clean, organized, inspected, neat, and safe work area
• Perform additional duties assigned by SBR leadership
• Adhere to policies in the SBR staff handbook

Position Overview

Provide customer service in coordination with the whitewater admin. Focusing on external and internal processes creating seamless experience for guests and whitewater vendors.

Key Responsibilities

• Organize all waivers into structured system for daily distribution in an efficient manner
• Welcome and assist customers arriving onsite, resolving concerns promptly
• Answer questions and distribute program information to guests regarding their scheduled whitewater activity
• Oversee the daily check-in, departure, and verification of guests for whitewater activities
• File trip reports with West Virginia DNR
• Write an end-of-season report to include operational improvements for your area
• Model the Scout Oath and Law in daily interactions
• Maintain a clean, organized, inspected, neat, and safe work area
• Perform additional duties assigned by SBR leadership
• Abide by policies and procedures outlined in the SBR staff handbook

Qualifications

• Minimum age: 18+
• Proficient in computer skills (Excel, Word, software navigation)
• Strong problem-solving skills and interpersonal communication abilities
• Willing to become a registered Scouting America member (includes background screening)
• Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communication

Physical & Practical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, and hike and up to 3 hours daily and ability to lift/move up to 25 pounds
• Complete the Annual Health and Medical Record, including height/weight guidelines
• Housing: 10'x12' platform tent in Staff Camp | Uniform: Summit Staff Uniform | Work Hours: 45 - 55
