Job summary

Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) is seeking an experienced Wheels & Tires Engineer to join the Chassis Engineering Design Team.

You will design and validate wheel and tire systems for US SUVs and trucks, working with cross-functional teams to ensure durability, performance, and seamless integration with braking and suspension. You will collaborate with Suppliers and manufacturing teams, drive design reviews, and support FMVSS/SAE compliance while mentoring junior engineers and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or automotive engineering.
• Experience in chassis and suspension design for SUVs, pickups, or off-road vehicles.
• Strong CAD skills and 3D modeling with CATIA V5 preferred.
• Familiarity with PLM systems (ENOVIA/Windchill) and 2D drawings.
• Ability to collaborate across disciplines and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Design and development of wheel/tire systems end-to-end from concept to production.
• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure integration with braking and suspension.
• Support validation plans for durability, ride, and handling tests.
• Coordinate with suppliers and participate in design reviews.
• Lead or support DFMEAs and DVP&R for wheel/tire systems.
