Job summary
Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) in California is seeking a Senior Off-road Development Engineer to own off-road and traction feature calibration for North American Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis programs.
You will lead calibration activities, manage hardware/software development, and coordinate with chassis, powertrain, and software teams to meet performance targets. You will bring 5+ years in automotive dynamics, strong vehicle testing experience, and proven calendar management for
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 5+ years automotive engineering experience
- 2+ years vehicle dynamics and traction development
- 3+ years calibration and scheduling experience
- 3+ years pre-production testing, including winter/off-site testing
- Strong written communication and presentation skills
Responsibilities
- Schedule and calibrate off-road and AWD performance developments across NA markets
- Develop hardware specifications and calibration reports for targets
- Collaborate with chassis, powertrain and software teams for integration
- Perform vehicle tests (prove grounds, off-road, seasonal) and document results
- Travel up to 30% domestically/internationally to support product development
