Job summary

SeAH Steel Corp. is seeking a Wheel Loader Operator - Level 2 to operate wheel loaders in our Houston facility. This full-time role supports pipe material transfers across production stages, with emphasis on safety and adherence to plant policies.

The ideal candidate has 3 years of forklift/wheel loader experience, basic math skills, and the ability to work a flexible schedule including overtime. OSHA safety and PPE rules apply on site.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
• 3-year minimum forklift/wheel loader operation handling pipe.
• Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
• Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and handheld devices.
• Flexible or rotating schedule which may require overtime.
• Ability to respond to call-outs when required.
• Understands all applicable location safety rules and ensures they are followed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain transfer and production operations per plant policies and procedures.
• Instruct Yard Attendant regarding transfers and housekeeping operations.
• Verify loading and unloading of material.
• Assist Inventory department for verification of counts and material.
• Route trucks to loading and unloading destinations within the yard.
• Complete loading and unloading documentation when required.
• Rack material in accordance with plant policies and procedures.
• Communicate to Supervisor or Yard Lead any problems with material, racks, or trucks.
• Assist with processing inbound and outbound racks as needed.
• Follow PPE policies and safety rules.
• Report to the Yard Lead for briefing on daily tasks.
• Maintain good housekeeping in yard and on equipment.
• Lift and transfer material safely as per safety regulations.
• Document, verify and record transfers via ERP Software System and/or hard copies.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Purpose

The Wheel Loader Operator shall operate the functions of transferring pipe material throughout the stages of operations in accordance with plant policies and procedures.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Maintain transfer and production operations in accordance with plant policies and procedures.

Qualifications / Competencies

• Education:
• A High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
• Years of Experience:
• 3-year minimum Forklift / Wheel Loader operation handling pipe.
• Job Knowledge:
• Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
• Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and hand held technical devices.
• Employee must be able to work with a flexible or rotating schedule which may require over-time when needed.
• Employee must be able to respond to call outs when required.
• Safety:
• Understands all applicable location safety rules and regulations and makes sure that all are being followed.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

• Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment.
• Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted on site.
• The ability to lift 25/50 pounds regularly
• The ability to respond quickly to sounds
• The ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces
• The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations
• The ability to safely climb ladders while carrying 40 pounds
• The ability to work in loud, hot environments/extreme weather while wearing required PPE.
• Ability to see 20-20 when corrected.
