Job summary

SeAH Steel USA is seeking a Yard Attendant to help move pipe material through production stages in a safe, compliant manner on a day-to-day basis. You will work with the yard team to load, unload, verify materials, and maintain a clean, organized work area.

The role requires basic lifting and strong communication, with a flexible schedule that may include overtime. You will follow plant policies and safety rules to ensure smooth yard operations and accurate documentation.

Qualifications

  • High school Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
  • Ability to lift up to 25–50 pounds regularly.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Employee must be able to work with a flexible schedule which may require over-time.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in transferring pipe material through stages of operation.
  • Follow PPE policies and safety rules at all times.
  • Assist with loading, unloading and verification of material.
  • Maintain good housekeeping in the work area and keep debris cleared.
  • Coordinate with yard lead for daily tasks briefing.
  • Follow forklift operator’s instructions during transfers and housekeeping operations.
  • Assist in inventory verification and rack/ material handling.
  • Route trucks to loading/unloading destinations within the yard.
  • Complete loading and unloading documentation when required.
  • Assist in racking material per instructions.
  • Communicate any material, rack, or truck problems to yard lead.
  • Assist with processing inbound and outbound racks as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

The Yard Attendant shall assist in the functions of transferring pipe material thru the stages of operation in accordance with plant policies and procedures. He/she will ensure a safe and compliant cooperation during his/her shift.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Safety is our number one priority. Employee must follow all PPE policies and safety rules.
  • Employee must report to the yard lead for briefing on daily tasks.
  • Assist with loading, unloading and verification of material.
  • Employee must maintain good housekeeping ethics. Work area must be free and clear of debris.
  • Assist in the transfer and production operations in accordance with plant policies and procedures.
  • Follow the Forklift operator’s instruction during transfers and housekeeping operations.
  • Employee will assist in the verification of all loading and unloading of material for quality assurance.
  • Assists in Inventory Control for verification of counts and material.
  • Routes trucks to loading and unloading destinations within the yard.
  • Complete loading and unloading documentation when required.
  • The employee is responsible for the assisting of racking of material per instruction.
  • Communicating to yard lead any problems with material, racks, or trucks.
  • Assisting at processing inbound and outbound racks when needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications / Competencies

Education: High school Diploma or GED preferred but not required.

Years of Experience
  • At least 6 months’ experience or on the job training.
Job Knowledge
  • Knowledge of the manufacturing processes, procedures, and yard instruments is a plus but not required.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Employee must be able to work with a flexible schedule which may require over-time.
Safety
  • Understands all applicable location safety rules and regulations and makes sure that all are being followed.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment.

  • Loose-fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted on site.
  • The ability to lift 25/50 pounds regularly.
  • The ability to respond quickly to sounds.
  • The ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.
  • The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations.
  • The ability to safely climb ladders while carrying 40 pounds.
  • The ability to work in loud, hot environments/extreme weather while wearing required PPE.
  • Ability to see 20-20 when corrected.
  • Ability to identify and distinguish colors.
