UMOS - United Migrant Opportunity Services in Kenosha, Wisconsin is seeking a WHEAP Intake Specialist to provide efficient intake services by phone, in person, or by mail to determine program eligibility.

You will enter applications into the WHEAP data system, answer calls, schedule appointments, verify income, and coordinate with the Weatherization program as needed. On-site role with a strong commitment to serving families in Wisconsin.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or two years of similar work in social services.
• Two years' experience in case management or equivalent.
• Ability to work independently within policies and guidelines.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Able to work flexible and irregular hours including on-call evenings.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
• Reliable transportation and Wisconsin driver license; able to travel within the state.

Responsabilités

• Provide intake services for WHEAP by phone, face-to-face or by mail to determine eligibility.
• Enter program applications into the WHEAP data system timely and accurately.
• Answer phones, schedule appointments, and provide program information to applicants.
• Provide quick, proactive response to client requests for assistance with required response times.
• Coordinate administrative activities, store/retrieve information, and communicate with staff and clients.
• Verify earned and unearned income including wages, child support, TANF, Social Security, UI, etc.
• Conduct community outreach and provide mobile intake services to community agencies and centers.
• Maintain client information and confidentiality, including in home visits.
