Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Wetland Delineator/Environmental Scientist to join our Midwest regional offices including Akron, OH. You’ll support infrastructure, utility, and renewable energy projects with a collaborative environmental team.

You will perform wetland delineations, GPS data collection, and report preparation while leading field teams during peak periods and ensuring high-quality work with safety at the forefront. This role offers strong growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of wetland delineation and stream assessment experience (Ohio/region preferred).
• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Environmental Studies, Biology or related field.
• Familiarity with USACE wetland data forms, ORAM data forms and QHEI/HHEI.
• Experience with GPS field data collection.
• Willingness to learn field methods and work long field hours.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and execution of wetland delineations and stream assessments.
• Perform duties as a wetland field team lead in accordance with current USACE guidelines.
• Operate GPS units to collect field data and map habitat types.
• Support preparation of field equipment, mapping, Safe Work Plans, and logistics for field work.
• Perform data entry, data analysis and report compilation.
• Coordinate with governmental agencies (USFWS, USACE, OEPA, ODNR, etc.).
• Assist and lead preparation of wetland delineation reports and permit applications.
• Field projects may require long hours, 10–12 hours/day in varying weather.
