Job summary

Orion Hidden Careers seeks an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to support wet utility installation projects in Dallas, TX. You will operate backhoes, excavators, bulldozers, trenchers, loaders and related machinery on active construction sites.

Responsibilities include pre/post inspections, routine maintenance, setting grades and ensuring accurate material placement, while following safety protocols and collaborating with crew supervisors. Must handle 8–12 hour shifts and occasional weekends.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience operating earth-moving equipment.
• Knowledge of wet utility installation, trenching, and grading preferred.
• Ability to read grade stakes, site plans, and project specifications.
• Work well in a team and communicate clearly with supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Fastens attachments, buckets, blades, and other components securely to machinery.
• Operates earth-moving equipment safely and efficiently.
• Performs pre- and post-operation inspections.
• Performs routine maintenance per manufacturer guidelines.
• Monitors gauges, indicators, and controls for safe operation.
• Collaborates with crew to ensure accurate excavation, grading, and material placement.
• Assists with setting grades, slopes, and trenches to project specs.
• Maintains equipment and tools for long-lasting use.
• Reports malfunctioning equipment promptly to supervisors.
• Follows safety protocols and company policies; may assist pipelayers.
• Maintains confidentiality of company information.
