Job summary

ORION in Houston is seeking a skilled heavy equipment operator to move construction materials and prepare job sites. You will operate bulldozers, trenchers, graders and other earth-moving machines, with shifting 8–12 hour schedules, including weekends as needed.

Responsibilities include inspecting equipment, performing basic repairs, greasing parts, and reporting issues promptly. You must follow safety policies and maintain confidentiality of company information.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years of experience operating earth-moving equipment.
• Understanding of construction principles and procedures.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to work long shifts (8–12 hours) and weekends as needed.
• Physical ability to lift, bend, and work in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Fastens attachments to tractors with hitch-pins.
• Operates earth-moving equipment.
• Inspects equipment before and after daily operations.
• Greases all appropriate parts as recommended by the manufacturer.
• Maintains the equipment per manufacturer guidelines.
• Checks that equipment functions properly.
• Cleans, maintains, and makes basic repairs to equipment.
• Reports malfunctioning equipment to supervisors promptly.
• Maintains equipment and tools for long-lasting use.
• Upholds safety and confidentiality policies.
