Job summary

Trace is seeking a Laboratory Assistant in Muskegon, MI to prepare and analyze water, oil, and solid samples for contaminants. The role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently or in a team.

Key responsibilities include performing SOP-based tests, maintaining records, and using a LIMS for batching and reporting results. Training will cover PPE usage and lab safety, with occasional overtime or weekend coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Associate’s degree with science focus or two years of laboratory experience preferred.
• Ability to perform multiple tasks while meeting sample hold-times and deadlines.
• Strong organization skills and attention to detail; good communication.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing of client samples per SOPs with accuracy and timeliness.
• Maintain precise, complete records of analyses.
• Use LIMS to batch samples and record results accurately.
• Carry out pH meter calibration and temperature checks.
• Prepare and analyze samples for pH, flashpoint, solids, density, and conductivity.
• Wear PPE and maintain a clean, safe lab environment.
• Accept other analyses or tasks as assigned by supervisor.
