Job summary

Element Materials Technology is hiring a Chemistry Technician/Chemist in Wisconsin for testing, sample preparation and reporting. You will perform analyses on water, soils, minerals, and polymer samples using ICP-OES, XRF, FTIR, TGA, DSC and related equipment. Travel to customer sites for testing and sample collection is required.

Role requires a chemistry degree with 2+ years' experience, ability to work in teams, and strong English and math skills. Safety and MSDS compliance are essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in chemistry with at least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
• Ability to work in teams under pressure and flexible to different shifts (night/day).
• Good English communication skills: reading, writing and speaking.
• Good maths skills.
• Knowledge and experience of safe operation of testing equipment in a chemistry lab.

Responsibilities

• Analyze water-physical, chemical and polymer materials.
• Analyze ores and minerals.
• Analyze water, soil, aggregates, concrete and scale samples.
• Operate equipment for metal analysis (ICP-OES, Spark OES, XRF) and polymer analysis (FTIR, TGA, DSC).
• Prepare reagents and standard solutions; ensure standardisation of solutions.
• Handle and store all chemicals per MSDS.
• Calibrate glassware and instruments; perform qualitative and quantitative tests.
• Issue reports and receive samples from clients; coordinate with personnel.
• Participate in site testing and ensure ISO 17025 compliance.
• Travel to customer sites for testing and sample collection.
