Job summary

ManpowerGroup is seeking a Lab Tech for a contract-to-hire role in Detroit, MI. The position supports wastewater treatment and environmental compliance in an onsite laboratory environment.

You will perform chemical, microbiological, toxicological, and physical analyses and assist with record-keeping and regulatory submissions. The ideal candidate has an associate degree or higher in a related science, is comfortable with rotating day/night shifts, and is prepared to work in an industrial setting

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in chemistry, engineering, or related science.
• Valid Michigan Driver’s License.
• Ability to work in an industrial setting supporting 24-hour operations.

Responsibilities

• Collect field samples of wastewater, sludge, and polymers from various process areas of the plant and outfall.
• Perform chemical, microbiological, toxicological, and physical analyses, including reagent and media preparation, instrument operation, calibration, and maintenance
• Become knowledgeable in laboratory analyses and treatment processes to support operational efficiency
• Train new hires in process analyses and sampling procedures to ensure team competency
• Contribute to record-keeping, reporting of laboratory data, regulatory submissions, and operational reports

Education

Associate Degree or higher from an accredited college or university in chemistry, engineering, or a related science
