Job summary

Komatsu seeks a Regional EHS Manager to lead the development and execution of Environmental, Health, and Safety programs for multiple mining sites across the western United States. Based in Elko, NV, the role requires driving regulatory compliance and a proactive safety culture within a heavy equipment mining environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, Risk Management, or related field.
• Minimum of seven years in EHS management within mining, heavy equipment manufacturing, construction, or similar industries.
• At least three years of leadership across multiple sites or business units.
• Extensive knowledge of MSHA regulations and mining safety standards.
• Strong understanding of OSHA, DOT, EPA, and state regulations; compliance track record.
• Experience with incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective actions.
• Willingness to travel up to 40% regionally; valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and continuous improvement of EHS programs for mining sites across the western US.
• Drive regulatory compliance with MSHA, OSHA, EPA, and DOT requirements.
• Oversee risk assessments, safety audits, and corrective action follow-ups.
• Lead investigations and root cause analyses of incidents.
• Design role-specific safety training for supervisors, technicians, and contractors.
• Manage contractor safety compliance and relationships at customer sites.
• Support HR wellness initiatives, workers' compensation, and return-to-work programs.
• Oversee environmental compliance for hazardous materials, waste, and spill prevention.
• Provide expertise on occupational health, industrial hygiene, and ergonomics.
• Coordinate emergencies and business continuity planning; drive audits and improvements.
