Job summary

GEA Group is seeking a skilled Field Service Technician specializing in Horizontal Packaging Equipment, based in the Western region of the United States.

You will conduct setup, troubleshooting, and maintenance on packaging lines, travel extensively, and support customers with technical expertise. A strong electrical/mechanical background and excellent communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• 5 years hands-on experience on electro-mechanical industrial equipment.
• Experience with vacuum systems and high-speed vacuum and gas applications.
• Experience with installation and commissioning of complete production lines.
• Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude; PLC and servo drives.
• Excellent English communication and customer-service orientation.
• Willingness to travel up to 90% including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Conducts machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs and preventative maintenance service
• Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs and scheduled maintenance
• Provides technical support to customers including troubleshooting
• Performs mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair
• Provides training of customers’ operators and maintenance personnel
• Complies with OSHA Safety and Health rules
