Job summary

VAST Data is seeking a Sales Director, Data Platform (West Coast) to lead strategic enterprise sales of our data platform. The role requires a proven track record in exceeding targets, strong evangelism for complex analytics solutions, and the ability to navigate senior customer conversations.

You will partner with marketing, product, and customer success to tailor demonstrations, manage the sales cycle, and close multi-million-dollar deals across the West Coast. Travel as needed is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field (MBA preferred).
• Minimum of 10 years sales experience, B2B, preferably in the database industry.
• Excellent evangelism skills with the ability to communicate the value proposition of complex technical solutions.
• Strong understanding of database technologies and data management principles.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with C-level executives.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and exceed sales targets.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve targets and expand customer base.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities through proactive prospecting and networking.
• Cultivate relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders within target accounts.
• Conduct in-depth product demonstrations and presentations to showcase the data platform's value.
• Collaborate with marketing, product, and customer success to align sales strategies.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and competitive landscape to position solutions effectively.
• Negotiate contracts and close deals in accordance with company policies.
• Provide timely sales forecasts, pipeline updates, and activity reports to management.
• Represent VAST Data at industry events and conferences.
• Pursue ongoing professional development to stay ahead in the market.
