Job summary

SCADD is seeking a Wellness & Recreation Assistant in Lebanon, CT to implement and manage wellness programs and special events for all SCADD programs. The role supports coordination with the clinical team, promotes client socialization and wellness activities, and ensures facilities and equipment are maintained and sanitized.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in recreation management, physical education or related field.
• Knowledge of substance use and community supports services preferred.
• Ability to plan, coordinate, promote and evaluate inclusive programs and activities.
• CPR Certification preferred.
• Driver's license with ability to drive a company vehicle required.

Responsibilities

• Promote client socialization, growth, learning and development by planning, implementing and engaging clients in activities across categories.
• Coordinate recreational and wellness activities and events across the continuum.
• Schedule the use of facilities and activity areas.
• Set up and keep records of equipment use.
• Ensure facilities and equipment are used, maintained and sanitized properly.
• Facilitate individual and group wellness activities including coaching and milieu management.
• Provide feedback to the clinical team on client motivation and participation.
• Uphold program rules, guidelines and policies and assist clients in following them.
• Assist discharge planning needs and readiness for discharge with care team.
• Maintain safety of the milieu at all times.
• Maintain wellness program and special events schedules.
