Job summary

Southeastern Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, Inc. (SCADD) in Southeastern Connecticut seeks a Wellness & Recreation Assistant to implement and manage recreation and wellness programs for all SCADD programs.

You will assist with planning, coordinating, promoting, and evaluating inclusive activities, events, and client engagement across the continuum to support recovery and well-being.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in recreation management, physical education or a related field.
• CPR Certification preferred
• Valid Driver's license with the ability to drive a company vehicle required

Responsibilities

• Promote client socialization, growth, learning & development by planning, implementing & engaging clients for activities in physical/exercise, entertainment, social, religious, recreational/creative, education.
• Coordinate all recreational and wellness activities and events across the continuum.
• Schedule the use of facilities and activity areas.
• Set up and keep records of equipment use.
• Ensure that recreation facilities and equipment are used, maintained and sanitized properly.
• Facilitate individual and group wellness activities including coaching, milieu management, and case management.
• Provide feedback to the clinical team regarding client motivation and participation.
• Uphold program rules and assist clients in following policies.
• Assist with discharge planning needs and readiness for discharge with care team.
• Maintain safety of the milieu at all times.
• Maintain wellness program and events schedules in coordination with other programs.
