A leading company in behavioral health services is seeking a Peer Support Specialist in Massachusetts. This role involves providing support and engagement to individuals in recovery, ensuring service connections, and collaborating with staff. What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Provide peer support, engagement, and follow-up to callers seeking assistance
- Identify opportunities for member and family engagement in recovery networks
- Collaborate on aftercare planning, barrier resolution, and service transitions
- Act as a resource for staff in decision making and problem solving
- Initiate and maintain contact with assigned individuals to ensure service connections
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Requires AA/AS and a minimum of 2 years of experience in health services or behavioral health field, or in a peer support services role
- Peer Specialist Certification is required
- Must reside within the state of Massachusetts and within 50 miles of an Elevance Health corporate office
- Availability for the work shift: Tuesday – Saturday, 12:00 pm - 8:30 pm EST
- Completion of mandatory COVID-19 and Influenza vaccinations for patient/member-facing roles
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Knowledge of care-coordination and case management concepts strongly preferred
- BA/BS or MBA preferred
- Current certification as a mental health peer specialist and/or recovery coach, or the ability to obtain certification within the first 6 months of employment
