Job summary

Red Rock Behavioral Health Services is seeking a Recovery Support Specialist in Shawnee, OK. The role supports rehabilitation, client advocacy, education, and recovery planning in inpatient, outpatient, or emergency settings.

Responsibilities include developing wellness plans, mentoring coping strategies, and facilitating peer support groups under clinical supervision. Strong communication and commitment to recovery are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current PRSS Certification or have demonstrated recovery from a mental health diagnosis, substance use disorder or both.
• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Be willing to self-disclose about their personal recovery journey.
• General skill in exercising independent judgment, tact, patience, and understanding; maintaining effective working relationships.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates activities promoting physical health and recovery.
• Provides peer support and crisis intervention under supervision.
• Develops individual wellness plans and offers implementation support.
• Mentors recovery values and coping strategies to clients.
• Supports formation of self-help groups and WRAP planning.
