Job summary

Ada County Sheriff's Office seeks a Wellness Coordinator to create, manage, and expand our employee wellness program. This civilian role reports to the Sheriff and focuses on building a cutting-edge framework, integrating a dedicated wellness app, and coordinating health screenings and EAP services for staff and families.

The position requires a relevant bachelor's degree, strong communication and program development skills, and experience in or with law enforcement wellness.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, sociology, social work, human behavior or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Knowledge of holistic wellness program design and delivery, including behavioral health, physical fitness, financial wellness, and family support.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and collaboration skills with the ability to work across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong skills in program development, project management, and long-term program growth.
  • Demonstrated ability to research, evaluate, and apply best practices in wellness programming.
  • Ability to identify and establish partnerships with culturally competent providers and organizations that serve law enforcement personnel and families.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and evaluate work using performance metrics and outcomes.
  • Maintain professional boundaries, uphold confidentiality, and adhere to the Ada County Sheriff's Office Code of Ethics.
  • Experience working within law enforcement or with law enforcement employees.

Responsibilities

  • Researches and evaluates best practices in law enforcement wellness programming to keep ACSO at the cutting edge of employee wellness.
  • Designs and builds the ACSO employee wellness program from the ground up, including vision, strategies, policies, and core services for both commissioned and professional staff.
  • Establishes systems, processes, and resources needed for program implementation, growth, and long-term sustainability.
  • Creates, manages, and updates the ACSO wellness app as the central hub for program content, resources, and engagement.
  • Participates with the agency's peer support team and assists the leadership team with coordination, training, meetings and debriefs.
  • Develops, promotes, and facilitates wellness strategies focused on behavioral health, fitness, nutrition, financial wellness, and family support.
  • Coordinates employee health screenings and EAP utilization, ensuring compliance and accessibility.
  • Provides informal triage assessments and referrals, maintaining networks for professional clinical services.
  • Builds and maintains a directory of culturally competent providers for law enforcement personnel and families.
  • Designs and delivers training and educational programs on wellness topics; coordinates with internal experts and external partners.
  • Collaborates with agency leadership, HR, external providers, and community stakeholders to expand wellness resources.
  • Works with Data Analytics to develop KPIs and metrics to evaluate utilization, effectiveness, and outcomes.
  • Identifies barriers to participation and implements strategies to reduce stigma around wellness.
  • Promotes wellness programming agency-wide to increase awareness, visibility, and participation.
