Job Description:Massage therapists provide gentle hands-on healing for patients currently or formerly undergoing chemotherapy and/or radiation treatment or integrative health care.
Responsibilities/Duties:- Completes required documentation in log and keeps diligent track of services provided.
- Maintains patient confidentiality under HIPAA compliance.
- Maintain strong relationships with all patients and staff.
- Corresponds with Supervisor frequently to support coordination of services and scheduling.
- Responsible for set up and break down of massage chairs and room.
- Responsible for maintaining excellent appearance and function of treatment room.
- Attends all trainings, events, staff meetings, etc. as assigned by Supervisor and/or Manager.
- Consistently maintain positive, up-beat attitude and professional appearance.
- Refer to policy manuals for specific instructions/guidelines, and follow established policies and procedures.
- Adhere to the standards of the job description, treatment protocols and overall mission, vision and goals of center and the department.
- Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Able to build high-quality working relationships with all levels of staff and customers with a wide-range of personalities and backgrounds.
- Must be able to remain composed, professional and positive in an occasional busy environment.
- Works independently within patient care, but is a strong team-member with all co-workers. Work independently with feedback from Manager and Supervisor.
- Assist Supervisor and Manager with marketing strategies and promotions of massage services and products.
Requirements:- Must be a graduate of an accredited massage therapy school with working knowledge of and preferably additional training in oncology massage therapy.
- Must have up to date licensure and credentials as LMT and timely renewal of licensure.
- Must provide proof of liability insurance.
- Must be able to provide chair massage for two-hour time blocks, and ability to work through clothing.
- Must have high level of sensory acuity, and ability to communicate with staff and caregivers in the midst of a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in a healthcare, palliative care, or hospice environment highly preferred.
