Job summary

Crossroads YMCA is seeking a Wellness Coach to support members’ health goals and encourage ongoing progress. You will help members connect with YMCA programs, build welcoming relationships, and share wellness information in a supportive environment.

The role emphasizes training, safety, and collaboration with the YMCA community to foster healthy lifestyle changes and personal growth through programs and resources.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate and relate effectively to people from diverse backgrounds, abilities, and socioeconomic circumstances.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
• Desire and ability to learn about health, wellness, fitness, and healthy living.
• Willingness to learn, receive feedback, and continue developing wellness knowledge and coaching skills.

Responsibilities

• Coach members in support of personal health and wellness goals.
• Check in with members regularly and encourage progress toward goals.
• Answer questions and provide general wellness information to help members make informed choices.
• Build authentic relationships with members and create a welcoming environment.
• Help members connect with YMCA programs and resources based on interests and goals.
• Maintain current knowledge of wellness, fitness, and industry trends.
• Maintain and clean wellness equipment according to schedules and supervisor direction.
• Follow YMCA policies, procedures, and safety standards.
• Respond appropriately to emergency situations.
