Job summary

YMCA of Northwest North Carolina is seeking a Wellness Coach to drive member retention and health engagement. You will deliver uFit orientations, provide fitness floor support, and build authentic relationships while ensuring a clean, safe exercise environment.

Collaboration with membership staff will align wellness journeys with YMCA values. The role emphasizes coaching diverse members, upholding safety, and promoting programs, personal training, and clinics.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred (exercise science, physical education or related field) or equivalent experience.
• Current CPR/First Aid/AED/Oxygen certification or obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn YMCA programs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver new member uFit sessions and provide fitness floor support.
• Motivate members to engage in wellness plans and programs.
• Maintain a safe, clean exercise environment and report equipment issues.
• Support membership staff to welcome and guide new members.
• Demonstrate proper use of equipment and supervise sessions as needed.
• Communicate with the Wellness Director and schedule follow-ups.
