Job summary

The YMCA of NorthWest North Carolina is seeking a Wellness Coach to engage new members, provide on-floor support, and build authentic relationships aligned with YMCA values. The role focuses on safe exercise, daily customer service, and collaboration with membership staff to guide new member wellness journeys.

You will conduct uFit sessions, supervise members, and help ensure a welcoming, safe, and clean wellness environment while promoting YMCA programs and community involvement.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of exercise techniques, wellness program planning, and equipment operation across populations.
• Excellent customer service and active listening to engage members.
• High school diploma or GED; college degree in related field preferred or 1–3 months related experience.
• Computer skills and ability to learn relevant software programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead new member uFit orientations and assist on the fitness floor.
• Supervise and encourage members during sessions and track wellness progress.
• Answer questions and demonstrate proper equipment usage.
• Maintain clean, safe wellness center environment and report issues to leadership.
• Support scheduling and follow-up on member appointments and wellness journeys.
