Job summary

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a Health Education Specialist to design, deliver, and evaluate health education programs and trainings for diverse populations. The role emphasizes adult learning principles, data collection, and updating educational resources to improve outcomes.

You will collaborate across teams to tailor content, assess learner needs, and translate evidence-based concepts into clear information for participants.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of experience teaching classes or conducting training programs for groups or individuals.
• Minimum one year of experience in healthcare environment or similar environment.
• Bachelor's Degree in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Counseling, Education, Psychology, Nursing, Nutrition, or related field AND minimum three (3) years of experience in health-related education or a directly related field, OR minimum six (6) years of experience in health-related education or a directly related field.

Responsibilities

• Pursues effective relationships with others by proactively providing resources, information, advice, and expertise with coworkers and members.
• Completes work assignments autonomously by applying up-to-date expertise in subject area to generate creative solutions; ensures all procedures and policies are followed.
• Assesses and understands member needs by identifying individual needs, interests, abilities, and learning styles; adjusts teaching style for inclusivity.
• Collects, analyzes, and reports on course data using appropriate software; presents findings to stakeholders.
• Educates and trains members using evidence-based techniques (e.g., Motivational Interviewing) to meet course objectives.
• Designs and updates training with interactive activities and culturally responsive materials.
• Maintains and updates resources by identifying outdated information and updating materials.
