Job summary

YMCA is seeking a Wellness Coach to support our mission of healthy living and youth development. You will engage members, lead wellness activities, and supervise the wellness area to ensure a safe, welcoming environment.

Qualifications include 18+ years, 6 months wellness experience, CPR/First Aid certification within 60 days, and completion of required trainings. You will embody caring, honesty, respect and responsibility in daily operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 18 years of age.
• 6 months experience in wellness; Grade III/IV requirements: 2 years in fitness field or up to 2 years of college-level exercise science.
• Must obtain YMCA Healthy Lifestyle Principles and Foundations of Strength and Conditioning within first 6 months of employment.
• Certification in CPR/First Aid/AED/O2 within 60 days of hire.
• Complete trainings: NEO, Bloodborne Pathogens, CAP, and Sexual Harassment.
• Satisfactory completion of criminal background and Child Protective Services checks.

Responsibilities

• Support the mission, vision and goals of the YMCA.
• Promote a values-based culture by leading with caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
• Lead to strengthen community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
• Supervision of the wellness area.
• Engage YMCA members through coaching on wellness activities.
• Provide and document daily, weekly and monthly equipment checks.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings as scheduled.
• Follow Association standards and wear staff uniform or professional attire.
