Job summary

The Minerva Area YMCA seeks a part-time team member to support the Wellness Center and Front Desk, delivering excellent member service and engaging with diverse participants.

Responsibilities include handling concerns, promoting memberships and programs, and building community connections within the YMCA environment. Weekday afternoons/evenings and Saturday mornings shifts are available; benefits include complimentary membership for part-time staff.

Qualifications

• Eagerness to welcome, connect, and engage with others.
• Strong listener with empathy and problem solving.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people.
• Previous customer service, sales, or related experience.
• Solid computer skills and Microsoft Office experience required.
• Experience working with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions and perceptions.
• First Aid/CPR/AED certification preferred but will provide training.
• Knowledge in overall health and wellness related fields.
• Understanding of exercise equipment and procedures while in use.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Delivers excellent service to all members, guests, and program participants. This will be a dual role between the Wellness Center and Front Desk at the Minerva Area YMCA.

STARTING RATE

• $11.35/hr commensurate with experience

AVAILABLE HOURS

• Weekday afternoons and evenings
• Saturday mornings
• Other shifts as needed
