Provide service to YMCA members in the fitness center and ensure the safety and risk management of the area and the members.

What You’ll Do
  • Conduct Wellness Center Orientations based on branch guidelines and provide assistance in a safe, enthusiastic, thorough, courteous and professional manner.
  • Members working out in the Fitness Center will be acknowledged by staff
  • Staff will be identifiable by staff shirt and nametag
  • Staff is trained and knowledgeable on Fitness Center operations
  • Ensure the Fitness Center is staffed 100% during operating hours
  • Maintain a clean facility and equipment
  • Report mechanical or breakdown issues immediately to the fitness director and document in maintenance logs
  • Assist members with advice, spotting, and support
  • Encourage members to wipe down equipment after use and clean equipment as requested
  • Participate in special events and open houses throughout the year
  • Maintain surveillance during shifts
  • Promote healthy lifestyle choices among members
  • Follow all policies and procedures of YGBW
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Effective communication skills required
  • Basic exercise principles knowledge or experience required
  • Obtain and maintain all required certifications within 90 days of hire
  • Availability on weekends and early mornings required
