Job summary

Blakeford Senior Life in Nashville, TN, seeks a Wellness Assistant to maintain the Wellness Center, support the pool environment, and ensure safety and cleanliness while upholding resident dignity.

You will assess residents' fitness levels, develop personalized exercise plans, and lead engaging group classes across campus, adapting to varying abilities and collaborating with teammates and community partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or better in Exercise Science or related field.
• 1 year experience teaching exercise classes to older adults.
• CPR certification preferred.

Description

As a Blakeford Wellness Assistant, you will:

• Maintain the Wellness Center, equipment, and pool environments in accordance with company and industry standards, including daily cleaning and routine maintenance.
• Assess residents’ fitness levels and individual needs to develop personalized exercise programs, monitor progress, and promote safe participation while maintaining confidentiality and resident dignity.
• Develop and lead engaging group fitness and wellness classes across campus and service lines, adapting instruction and activities to accommodate varying abilities and needs.
• Coordinate wellness resources and collaborate with residents, team members, and community partners to promote physical health and Blakeford’s WellLife principles.
• Promote safe exercise practices throughout the campus, ensuring classes and activities follow appropriate safety protocols and provide clear, accessible instruction and modifications.
• Respond to resident suggestions, requests, and concerns, escalating issues as appropriate, supporting fellow class leaders, and performing other duties as assigned.
