Job summary

Ultipro in Wisconsin is seeking a Welding Youth Apprentice to learn welding fundamentals, safety practices, and fabrication shop operations. This part-time role supports experienced welders and supervisors while you gain hands-on experience during the school year, with additional hours possible during breaks.

You will learn MIG and Flux Core welding, read blueprints, and develop reliability and teamwork in a stable company with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled and attending high school or college program with interest in the welding field.
  • Strong interest in welding and skilled trades.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees and supervisors.
  • Good attendance and work ethic.
  • Must be 16 years old.

Responsibilities

  • Lean and practice basic welding techniques MIG and Flux Core welding.
  • Assist with measuring, cutting, grinding, and preparing materials for welding.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and use personal protective equipment.
  • Support shop staff with general tasks such as material handling and cleanup
  • Gain exposure to reading and interpreting blueprints and shop drawings.
  • Demonstrate reliability, willingness to learn, and teamwork

Role Overview

The Welding Youth Apprentice program is designed for high school students interested in exploring a career in welding and fabrication. Apprentices will work under the guidance of experienced welders and supervisors to learn the fundamentals of welding, safety practices, and the operations of a steel fabrication shop. This position is part-time during the school year, with the potential for additional hours during school breaks.
