Job summary

  • Prepare materials by cleaning, positioning, and securing workpieces
  • Set up and operate welding equipment, including adjusting amperage and voltage settings
  • Learn to strike arcs and guide welding tools to create proper welds
  • Inspect welds for quality, including bead size and depth of fusion
  • Repair cracks, holes, and damaged components as needed
  • Support assembly by positioning, clamping, and tacking parts together
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Follow all safety procedures, work instructions, and welding standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Job description

Physical Requirements
  • Regular standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching
  • Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs; occasional lifting up to 150 lbs
  • Ability to use hands for handling tools and materials
  • Visual ability to inspect weld quality and details
  • Exposure to manufacturing equipment, welding fumes, and airborne particles
  • Frequent exposure to noise, vibration, and industrial conditions
  • Occasional exposure to electrical hazards and chemicals
  • PPE required in all production areas
