Classroom and shop instruction in SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, oxy-fuel and plasma cutting with a focus on safety and industry standards. The educator will lead lab activities, develop rigorous lesson plans aligned to the North Carolina Standard Course of Study, and coach SkillsUSA while building relationships with local employers for career

Qualifications

• North Carolina license in welding required or alternative licensure path provided
• Two years of related work experience for Bachelor's degree
• Four years of related work experience for Associate degree
• Six years of related work experience for High School Diploma/GED

Responsibilities

• Instruct welding standards and AWS-aligned curricula to prepare students for post-secondary education, apprenticeships, or direct entry into the workforce.
• Enforce shop safety protocols and PPE requirements.
• Train students in blueprint reading, weld inspection, metallurgy, and thermal cutting.
• Advise SkillsUSA chapter and coach students for welding competitions.
• Collaborate with local manufacturers and unions to build student career pipelines.
