Job summary

Bernalillo Public Schools seeks a dedicated High School Welding Teacher to develop and deliver a robust CTE welding program for grades 9–12. You will teach SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, FCAW, and related skills, integrating math, science, and engineering concepts to prepare students for postsecondary opportunities and credentials.

The role emphasizes safety, lab management, and collaboration with industry partners to ensure a pathway to careers in welding and related trades.

Qualifications

• Possession of a valid NM teaching or CTE license for secondary welding.
• Experience with welding processes and safety practices required.
• Ability to align instruction with NM CTE expectations and AWS standards.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver standards-aligned welding instruction for grades 9–12.
• Maintain a safe welding lab and enforce PPE usage and OSHA/OSHA-equivalent rules.
• Develop and update a coherent CTE welding program aligned with district pathways.
• Prepare students for welding credentials and workforce readiness.
• Collaborate with industry partners and teachers to support projects and CTSOs.
