Job summary

Wabtec in Jackson, TN seeks a Welder to follow drawings and work instructions to assemble and weld a variety of products. You will ensure quality, meet production standards, and continually seek process improvements with safety as a priority.

You will be part of the Heat Transfer & Energy Solutions team, collaborating with welders and operators across departments to support internal and external customers and suppliers.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED is required.
• MIG welding 2G capability/experience required.
• Ability to read and comprehend industrial blueprints.
• Must be able to use tools and equipment needed for assembly operations.
• Good listening and communication skills; able to work well with others.

Responsibilities

• Position, align, and fit components together.
• Bolt, clamp, and tack-weld parts to secure for welding.
• Set up equipment and weld parts using arc, gas-shielded arc, or submerged arc welding.
• Assemble parts by bolting and riveting.
• Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
