Who will you be working with?

You will work with a broad range of talented individuals delivering quality products in a timely manner at our Young Touchstone business unit. You’ll partner with professionals across multiple departments and work alongside other Welders and Operators. As a member of the Heat Transfer & Energy Solutions team, you will be responsible for providing services and support to internal and external customers and suppliers to ensure materials, processes and products meet or exceed specifications. This position is based at our Jackson, TN location and reports directly to the area Supervisor.

Job Description

How will you make a difference?

As a Welder, you will follow specified work instructions and/or engineering parts drawings to assemble a wide variety of products. You will be responsible for the quality of your work, and meeting production standards. You will continually look for ways to improve our production processes and make Safety your #1 priority every day.

What will your typical day look like?

• Positions, aligns, and fit components together.
• Bolts, clamps, and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding.
• Sets up equipment and welds parts, using arc, gas-shielded arc, or submerged arc welding equipment.
• Assembles parts by bolting and riveting.
• Repairs products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
• You may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.

Do you have the following required skills and education?

• High School Graduate or GED.
• 1+ years of welding experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
• MIG weld 2G capability/experience is required.
• Ability to read and comprehend industrial blueprints.
• Must possess the ability to use tools and equipment that are needed to perform the assembly operations in an industrial setting.
• Must have good listening and communication skills.
• Able to work well with others and to be a good team player.

Additional Information

Wabtec will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the U.S. for this opening. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a drug screen (as applicable) and fitness for duty test (as applicable).

The hourly pay range for this role is $28.00 to $32.00.

The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
