Job summary

The successful candidate will teach according to Michigan CTE standards, utilize current welding technology, and support student learning through project-based, hands-on experiences while promoting safety and program growth.

Qualifications

• CTE welding credential (OEC) or state-approved equivalent.
• Min 2 years or 4,000 hours welding experience in last 10 years plus associate degree.
• Knowledge of welding processes and robotic welding equipment.
• Ability to design curriculum aligned to Michigan CTE standards.

Responsibilities

• Deliver instruction in classroom and lab aligned with Michigan CTE standards.
• Integrate welding equipment and industry practices into teaching.
• Develop partnerships for internships and field trips.
• Maintain safety, attendance, and student records.
• Prepare students for postsecondary education and industry certifications.
• Promote the Welding program and Kent Career Tech Center.
