Job summary

The position emphasizes collaboration with instructors, data-informed instruction, and ensuring safety in labs and field sites, with duties spanning instruction support and student success initiatives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of two years (4,000 hours) of recent work experience in the occupational area.
• Experience collecting, interpreting, and using data to inform decisions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interactions with students, parents, employer reps, and teachers.
• Ability to work with culturally diverse student populations, including special populations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in providing specialized and accommodated instruction in various aspects of Career Technical Education (CTE).
• Support the safe and proper use of program tools and equipment for students needing extra help.
• Use remedial and tutorial techniques to maximize student learning.
• Assist students one-on-one or in small groups as directed by the lead instructor.
• Maintain discipline and support the lead instructor to maximize learning.
• Help maintain a safe learning environment in labs, work sites, and during field trips.
• Assist in setup/operation of equipment used in teaching.
• Provide supplementary services to at-risk students as outlined in 504/IEP plans.
