Job summary

Bloom Energy in Newark, DE seeks a skilled manufacturing technician responsible for maintaining on-the-floor activities with safe practices under EHS policies. You will provide hands-on TIG and pulse welding support, ensure quality adherence, mentor the welding team, and help with process flow, inventory management, and standardized work creation.

You will communicate technical welding questions, train peers, and drive waste reduction while supporting Yamazumi and production line setup.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; AA degree preferred.
  • 2-5 years TIG welding and pulse welding experience required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; cross-functional collaboration.
  • Demonstrated leadership to motivate and lead teams.
  • Able to lift up to 45 pounds and stand for long shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain on-the-floor manufacturing activities safely per EHS policies.
  • Ensure quality requirements are met and followed daily.
  • Provide hands-on welding support to manufacturing areas and projects.
  • Answer technical welding questions and maintain process flow.
  • Handle inventory, cycle counts, and material movement between plants.
  • Create, document, and sustain standardized work practices.
  • Train and mentor welding team members in techniques and troubleshooting.
  • Report attendance, quality, or performance issues to supervision.
  • Lead welding and assembly processes; communicate issues to supervisor.
  • Identify waste in processes and propose cost-effective solutions.
  • Assist in Yamazumi creation and production line setup.
  • Support rework components for Unishell and Hotbox production.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

  • Responsible for maintaining on-the-floor manufacturing activities while ensuring that they are performed in a safe manner and in accordance with EHS policies and procedures
  • Ensure that all quality requirements are met and that all team members are adhering to these requirements daily
  • Provide hands on welding support to manufacturing areas and engineering projects
  • Answer technical & welding questions as they arise and aide in maintaining & restoring process flow
  • Oracle transactions and IOTs for material movement between plants and processes
  • Cycle counts and inventory management
  • Create, document, and sustain standardized work practices
  • Train and mentor welding team members using a hands-on approach to ensure the team members are able to learn the techniques required to troubleshoot
  • Report and attendance, quality, or performance issues to the Manufacturing Supervisor.
  • Responsible for running the welding and assembly team from a process standpoint and communicating issues with the supervisor/manager as required.
  • Identify non-value added waste within the manufacturing process and recommend cost effective solutions to eliminate waste
  • Assist in creation of Yamazumi and in production line set up
  • Responsible for all rework components needed for Unishell and Hotbox production
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High school diploma required, AA degree preferred
  • 2-5 years Tungsten inert gas welding and pulse welding experience is required
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate cross-functionally
  • Demonstrated leadership skills to motivate and lead teams
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Highly motivated self-starter and team player
  • Must demonstrate safe work practices and attention to detail
  • Familiar with lean manufacturing terminology principles
  • Experience creating standardized work
  • Experience creating Yamazumi and production line set up
  • Experience completing process technician responsibilities preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 45 pounds
  • Must be flexible to work fluctuating schedules if needed
  • Ability to stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours per shift
  • Navigate the facility throughout the day
  • Occasionally lift/carry up to 25–50 lbs
  • Use hands and fingers to operate machinery controls and computers throughout the shift
  • Visual acuity sufficient for product inspection and reading digital/printed materials
  • Hearing ability to detect alarms and communicate effectively with staff
  • Demonstrates competency in written and verbal English communications to understand safety protocols, hazard communications, and standard operational procedures (SOPs) required to ensure the safety of the employee and others on the manufacturing floor.
