Job summary

NextGenEnergyJobs is seeking a manufacturing technician to support on-the-floor activities, ensure safety and quality compliance, and assist with process flow and material movements between plants. The role includes training teammates, conducting cycle counts, and driving standardized work practices.

The ideal candidate communicates well, is a self-starter, and can lift up to 45 pounds while standing for long shifts. Experience with lean methods and Yamazumi is a plus.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; AA degree preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills to communicate cross-functionally.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills to motivate and lead teams.
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Highly motivated self-starter and team player.
  • Must demonstrate safe work practices and attention to detail.
  • Familiar with lean manufacturing terminology principles.
  • Experience creating standardized work.
  • Experience creating Yamazumi and production line set up.
  • Experience completing process technician responsibilities preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 45 pounds.
  • Flexible to work fluctuating schedules if needed.
  • Stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours per shift.
  • Navigate the facility throughout the day.
  • Occasionally lift/carry up to 25–50 lbs.
  • Operate machinery controls and computers throughout the shift.
  • Visual acuity for inspection and reading materials.
  • Hearing to detect alarms and communicate with staff.
  • Demonstrates competency in written and verbal English communications.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintaining on-the-floor manufacturing activities in a safe manner per EHS policies.
  • Ensure all quality requirements are met and team adheres daily.
  • Answer technical & welding questions and assist in maintaining process flow.
  • Handle Oracle transactions and IOTs for material movement between plants and processes.
  • Provide updates on unit findings with engineering and manufacturing teams.
  • Conduct cycle counts and manage inventory.
  • Create, document, and sustain standardized work practices.
  • Train and mentor technical team members using hands-on approach.
  • Report attendance, quality, or performance issues to the Manufacturing Supervisor.
  • Run assembly team from a process standpoint and communicate issues to supervisor/manager.
  • Identify non-value added waste and propose cost-effective eliminations.
  • Assist in Yamazumi creation and production line setup.
  • Responsible for rework components for Unishell and Hotbox production.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

  • Responsible for maintaining on-the-floor manufacturing activities while ensuring that they are performed in a safe manner and in accordance with EHS policies and procedures
  • Ensure that all quality requirements are met and that all team members are adhering to these requirements daily
  • Answer technical & welding questions as they arise and aide in maintaining & restoring process flow
  • Oracle transactions and IOTs for material movement between plants and processes
  • Provide updates on unit findings with engineering and manufacturing teams
  • Cycle counts and inventory management
  • Create, document, and sustain standardized work practices
  • Train and mentor technical team members using a hands-on approach to ensure the team members are able to learn the techniques required to troubleshoot
  • Report and attendance, quality, or performance issues to the Manufacturing Supervisor.
  • Responsible for running the assembly team from a process standpoint and communicating issues with the supervisor/manager as required.
  • Identify non-value added waste within the manufacturing process and recommend cost effective solutions to eliminate waste
  • Assist in creation of Yamazumi and in production line set up
  • Responsible for all rework components needed for Unishell and Hotbox production
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements
