Bloom Energy in Fremont, CA is seeking a skilled Welder for a full-time, on-site role reporting to the Manufacturing Supervisor. The successful candidate will perform TIG welding in horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions, read detailed work instructions, and fabricate components for solid oxide fuel cell units.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, 1 year TIG welding experience (2–3 years preferred), and the ability to follow procedures. A welding certificate is preferred.

  • Weld horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions.
  • Position and clamp parts in fixtures; load/unload jigs.
  • Perform leak testing on finished products.
  • Maintain equipment and perform 5S upkeep.
  • Complete paperwork and safety procedures.

Position Overview

Welder - Bloom Energy - Fremont, CA. Full-time, on‑site position reporting to Manufacturing Supervisor.

Shift Schedule
  • Day shift, 6am - 6pm, Sunday - Tuesday, including every alternating Wednesday.
  • Day shift, 6am - 6pm, Thursday - Saturday, including every alternating Wednesday.
  • Night shift, 6pm - 6am, Sunday - Tuesday, including every alternating Wednesday.
  • Night shift, 6pm - 6am, Thursday - Saturday, including every alternating Wednesday.
Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret Work Instructions to determine specific welding requirements.
  • Weld horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions.
  • Position and clamp parts together in fixtures.
  • Accurately count all pieces to ensure quality control of parts prior to welding.
  • Operate welding equipment according to operating manual.
  • Complete required paperwork in a correct and timely manner.
  • Operate hoist and power lift stand.
  • Load and unload jigs.
  • Perform leak testing checks on finished welding products.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures and/or Work Instructions exactly as written.
  • Fabricate components for use in a solid oxide fuel cell electrical power generator.
  • Maintain all machine shop equipment and 5S upkeep.
  • Notify management of shop consumables in order to maintain inventories.
  • Create assembly and fabrication fixtures.
  • Address and recommend improved methods for creating hardware and assemblies.
  • Perform basic job functions as directed safely and efficiently.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 1 year required experience in TIG Welding (preferred 2-3 years).
  • Experience in following required work instructions.
  • Valid certificate in Welding from an accredited institution preferred.
  • Mechanical skills and ability to use basic shop tools and equipment.
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of standing and performing repetitive tasks.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. at a time.
  • Must have manual dexterity to assemble products as directed.
  • Must have excellent hand-eye coordination.
  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE); could be required to wear a respirator and pass a Fit test.
