Job summary

Element2 Group is seeking a Welding Supervisor to lead daily welding activities in a shop and field environment. You will interpret blueprints, plan work, and ensure all welds comply with AWS/ASME codes and project specifications.

You will oversee MIG, TIG, and SMAW operations, monitor productivity, and conduct weld quality inspections. Responsibilities include safety enforcement, mentoring welders, and coordinating with project managers and engineers. Overtime and weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years welding experience with leadership or supervisory exposure preferred.
• Proficiency in MIG, TIG and SMAW welding processes.
• Strong blueprint reading and layout experience.
• Knowledge of welding codes and structural steel standards.
• Ability to manage crews and maintain high productivity; strong communication.
• OSHA certification preferred; forklift/equipment experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of welders, fabricators, and fitters.
• Interpret blueprints, drawings, and weld symbols to plan and assign work.
• Ensure all welding meets AWS, ASME, or project-specific code requirements.
• Perform and oversee MIG, TIG, and SMAW welding operations as needed.
• Monitor productivity, workflow, and job progress to meet deadlines.
• Conduct quality inspections of welds and finished assemblies.
• Enforce OSHA and company safety standards at all times.
• Train, mentor, and evaluate welding personnel.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and shop supervisors.
• Maintain welding equipment, tools, and consumables inventory.
• Assist with scheduling manpower and materials.
