Job summary

SQA Services is seeking a detail-oriented Welding Inspector in Manitowoc, WI, to ensure the quality and integrity of welded components. The role involves visual inspections, documentation review, and ensuring compliance with AWS D1.1 and project specs.

ITAR restrictions apply and a US citizenship or permanent resident status is required. The position is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, for a 6-month term, with opportunities to contribute to supplier quality

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical training in welding inspection preferred.
• Minimum 3-5 years of structural welding inspection experience preferred.
• Experience inspecting structural steel fabrication and welded assemblies.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual inspection (VT) of structural welds according to AWS D1.1.
• Evaluate weld workmanship and surface condition.
• Verify weld profiles, weld size, and contour requirements.
• Inspect fillet welds, groove welds, CJP and PJP welds.
• Review and verify WPS documentation and welder qualifications.
• Generate inspection reports and nonconformance documentation.
• Coordinate with NDE personnel when required.
