Job summary

SQA Services is seeking a detail-oriented Welding Inspector to ensure welded components meet AWS D1.1 and project specifications. This on-site, 1-year contract role runs 5 days a week with a 1:30pm–10pm shift at our Missouri facility.

You will perform visual inspections, review weld symbols and documentation, coordinate with NDE when required, and maintain inspection records and traceability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical training in welding inspection preferred.
• Minimum 3–5 years of structural welding inspection experience.
• Experience inspecting structural steel fabrication and welded assemblies.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual inspection (VT) of structural welds per AWS D1.1 criteria.
• Evaluate weld workmanship and surface condition.
• Verify weld profiles, weld size, and contour requirements.
• Inspect fillet, groove, CJP and PJP welds.
• Review WPS documentation and welder qualifications.
• Coordinate with NDE personnel when required.
• Generate inspection reports and nonconformance documentation.
