Job summary

SQA Services, Inc. seeks a detail-oriented Welding Inspector to ensure the quality, compliance, and integrity of welded components and assemblies at client sites.

The role involves performing inspections (VT per AWS D1.1), reviewing WPS documentation, verifying welder qualifications, and coordinating with NDE personnel as needed. This is a 6-month, full-time assignment with standard day shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required/Technical welding training preferred
• Minimum 3–5 years of structural welding inspection experience preferred
• Experience inspecting structural steel fabrication and welded assemblies

Responsibilities

• Perform visual inspection (VT) of structural welds per AWS D1.1 criteria
• Evaluate weld workmanship and surface condition
• Review WPS documentation and verify welder qualifications
• Inspect fillet/groove welds and CJP/PJP welds
• Coordinate with NDE personnel when required
• Generate inspection reports and nonconformance documentation
• Provide objective disposition recommendations
• Maintain inspection records and traceability
