Job summary

SQA Services in New Orleans seeks a detail-oriented Welding Inspector to ensure quality, compliance, and integrity of welded components and assemblies. You will perform inspections, verify documentation, and ensure materials meet AWS D1.1 and other drawings/specifications; role is 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 7:00 am–3:30 pm, for six months. ITAR eligibility required; U.S.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical welding inspection training preferred.
• Minimum 3-5 years of structural welding inspection experience preferred.
• Experience inspecting structural steel fabrication and welded assemblies.

Responsibilities

• Perform VT visual inspection of structural welds per AWS D1.1 criteria.
• Verify weld profiles, size, contour and inspect fillet/groove welds.
• Review WPS documentation, welder qualifications and continuity records.
• Generate inspection reports and nonconformance documentation.
• Coordinate with NDE personnel when required.
