How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

Position Title: Weld Process Specialist

- Covering VT, NH, & ME

- Frequent regional travel (up to 50% of work time) requiring overnight stays.

The Welding Process Specialist is a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Welding Processes, Applications, and Economics. This technical sales role focuses on accelerating sales cycles for Welding and Automation by providing engineering solutions, product demonstrations, technical support, and automation guidance. The specialist collaborates with Airgas associates, vendors, and customers.

  1. Grow profitable sales of large capital Welding Processes and Applications to new and existing customers.
  2. Provide technical knowledge to match customer needs with Airgas products and services, utilizing sales tools like Efficiency Analysis, Weld surveys, and Welding 201.
  3. Initiate customer calls, provide product and application training, and support robotics and automation needs.
  4. Coordinate installation and service of robotic, plasma, laser, and automation projects.
  5. Evaluate and improve customer welding and cutting processes through training.
  6. Collect market data on customer needs, trends, and competition.
  7. Promote the Airgas Welding Initiative using sales and marketing materials.
  8. Maintain and upgrade technical skills through training and self-study.
  9. Complete sales documentation and respond to communications promptly.
  10. Operate safely, promote safety culture among colleagues and clients.
  11. Undertake special projects and additional duties as needed.

Are you a MATCH?

  • Associate's Degree in Welding (AAS) or equivalent military/trade training; or Bachelor's in Engineering.
  • 2 certifications such as CWI, CWS, CWE, NCCER.
  • Additional certifications like CWEng, CWSR, ASNT Level II/III are desirable.
  • OSHA 10/30-hour card required.
  • Memberships in AWS, ASM, ASNT, ASQ, ASME are preferred.
  • At least 3 years of technical sales experience and 7 years in welding industry.
  • Strong relationship management, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and travel to various sites with a valid driver's license.
