Qualifications

• Bachelor’s with 6+ years relevant experience or associate’s degree with 8+ years relevant experience or 10+ years of relevant experience
• Ability to obtain Certified Welding Inspector (CWI), Certified Welding Educator (CWE), and Certified Welding Supervisor (AWS /or CWB) accreditations
• Previous training experience
• Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly and effectively
• Ability to speak and instruct large and small groups, in multiple settings
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
• Commitment to safety and adherence to Valmont policies
• Strong Microsoft Office knowledge

Responsibilities

• Supervise site welding team (weld instructor & technicians) and coordinate with Site Leader and Welding Management Team
• Attend daily production meetings to ensure welding KPIs are met
• Travel up to 20% locally; Farmington, MN up to 50% locally and to Elkhart, IN
• Write, review, approve, and control welding procedures and related documents
• Interview welding candidates and assess skill levels
• Provide coaching and training to welding staff
• Assist with qualification and training of welding personnel and recordkeeping
• Provide technical support for customer concerns and audits
• Analyze QA reports and perform root cause analysis for welding processes
• Perform process audits to ensureCompliance
