Job summary

BAE Systems, Inc. is seeking a seasoned Welding Operations Lead in a fabrication environment. You will direct daily welding activities, oversee safety protocols, and uphold strict quality standards across MIG, TIG, and Stick processes.

You will hire, train, and mentor welders, assign tasks, and inspect welds for AWS/ASME compliance. You will also manage Welding Procedure Specifications, enforce safety rules, and drive continuous improvement to keep projects on schedule and within budget.

Qualifications

• 5+ years journey welder experience required.
• 5-10 years lead experience in craft leadership or mentoring.
• Experience with MIG (GMAW), TIG (GTAW) and SMAW welding.
• Ability to read welding symbols, drawings and schematics.
• Strong safety and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily operations, safety protocols, and welding quality.
• Hire, supervise, train, and mentor welding personnel.
• Assign production tasks and schedules to meet deadlines.
• Inspect welds to ensure compliance with AWS/ASME codes.
• Manage Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and safety rules.
• Drive continuous improvement to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
